Disk Read Error when installing XP
I have a computer which has a raid 0 with 2 hard drives
When i installed Vista on the computer it worked fine, saw the raid setup and allowed me to install quickly
But like most people i hated vista so i decided to install XP Pro instead, this involved me having to get a RAID & SATA driver floppy for it to recognise my hard drives
The Install goes fine, but when the computer restarts it always comes up with Disk Read Error
I have used 3 copy's of xp and none of them have worked always comes up with the same error, but when i installed Vista back on it works fine

Sounds like you might have a Vista specific driver. If worse comes to worse, just get used to Vista; it is faster, and more secure than XP.

But thats the easy way out, i would like to find out why xp wont install,
Is there a way to use nlite and copy the vista drivers over to the xp install iso

Well if you wish to stay with xp, do a driver scan, choose from the freewares or sharewares on th larket
http://www.radarsync.com/

http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/
You can also go to run then type cmd then type chkdsk (chkdsk c: /f )and reboot, this might help you.

Take out your hard drive and add it to another pc having a windows xp, then find out if you can add/remove files.

Surprised it didnt BSOD. Go into your BIOS and set your HDD's to IDE mode, or load the raid driver through the f6 and floppy. Try that.
