dvd burner
Looking to purchase dvd burner. My pc has Ide drives. When I look at places like wal-mart they only have sata. I belive my mother board has 2 sata connecters on it. Question is would there be any problems with putting sata dvd burner in my pc since my the rest of my drives are ide. Or should i buy an external one. Seen a nice external (cant remember brand) at walmart with once touch copy.

IDE and SATA are normally incompatible, but you could look around some of your local PC shops and ask them for a SATA-to-IDE (or IDE-to-SATA) bridge, which will allow you to run a SATA drive via your IDE ports.

My motherboard has two seperated sata connecters along with the ide connecters: if i hook up a sata dvd to the mother board will that still make it incompatable. Just asking because i dont wasn to waste my money and time hooking up something that will not be compatable with the rest of my system.
Any have any experience with external dvd burners?

I've used them too, and had good luck with MOST of them. It's the ones without software you have to watch out for, as they often stink.

I quess I will try my luck with the external dvd burner. First I will check the brand then do some online research on it. Aslo make sure it has the sofware with it. I kind of like the one touch/button copy feature it has. Any one have any thoughts about the one touch copy feature. (good idea or bad idea?)

I honestly don't use it but it sounds to be a good idea.
