Device Not Ready

Help! I'm trying to save the files from an old Compaq PC that has Windows 98 and I will get rid of (once I save the files) but...

when I insert a CD to save to or to back-up to I get a box that states
E:\ Is Not Accessabile
Device Not Ready

any suggestions for this issue???

Try other disc and see if they can be read or not.
It is possible that you bought a bad CD which are all in the same batch.
