    mobo max ram probleum

I have a K8 Triton GA-K8N Pro motherboard, i just tried to install a 2-Gb ram chip next to my other 2 1GB ram chips makeing for a total of 4Gb but the comptuter would just make beeping sounds. I took the 2Gb chip out and read my motherboard manual, it appears the motherboard says it supports a max of 3GB ram. Is there any workaround for this? I lost my job about 10 months ago so purchasing a new computer is just out of my reach.

I guess there's nothing much you can do other than inserting the 2GB on first slot and then 1GB on the second one to make it 3GB max.

I had a similar situation a few days ago. The official website mentions that my mainboard can support up to 4GB max. I already have 2 1GB installed and I bought 2 more 1GB. No matter what I did, the BIOS only shows 3GB. I then checked the forum and they mention that the Intel 945 chipset can only support 3GB. MSI provides false information on their website...

In X32(32Bit) OS (operating systems),no matter what amount of RAM you install either 4GB or more then that it will always show a total physical memory from 3GB to 3.25GB,so there is no solution for that, its better you go for another stick of 1GB RAM
    (2GB+1GB=3GBTotal)

yeah sorrymate you can change the RAM total of a computer or laptop to either go for 3GB RAM or try and save for a new computer.
