    Post DVD Drive Problem

    Hi friends
Well, coming to the point that my DVD Drive is behaving strangely.
    1. Whenever i insert any cd/dvd in it, then i can access the contents of the cd/dvd but the icon and the title of the DVD drive doesn't change. It always show DVD-RAM Drive (G: ). It doesn't changes. For eg- if i insert vista cd, then the title and icon of the drive doesn't change.

    2. And sometimes my dvd drive just disappears. I've to reboot to bring it back.

I've checked in device manager and it says that my drive is working well but the above 2 problems are still there.

    So, how to fix it?

I believe that you have laptop, because I had similar problem and most of the time it was due to driver of dvd, but finally problem had been removed by changing drive of laptop (Which too had same problem after 5-6 months), if this is the case and it's under warrantey don't wait and contact service center. Else wait for advise of other memebers here..
