Problem with the keyboard for my PC
The keyboard for my PC has started acting strangely. If I turn my PC on, or restart it, the keyboard won't load when GRUB bootloader comes up. I have a dual boot with Windows 7 and Linux Fedora and since the keyboard doesn't load, I can't choose between them. I was wondering if the problem had anything to do with my system bios, or could it be the keyboard itself. The keyboard does load after Fedora boots up and I can use it then, so I don't believe its a driver issue. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, John

Nevermind, I got the problem figured out.

Hi John i found this Try edit ~/.kde/share/config/kaccessrc and set SlowKeys=false could just be down to a keyboard setting, I know you are using a Grub bootloader, but im just suggesting the keyboard settings... maybe give you somewhere else to look and maybe save you changing keyboards...i think Paul may have better insight to this and may have come across it before..
The only time i have really been stuck with this is Nlited xp discs and that was my own doing

Sorry, I was in a hurry when I edited my post yesterday. The problem was basically me! I disconnected my PC to take it out to my garage so I could blow the dust out, which I like to do every once in a while. Anyway, when I reconnected every thing I switched up the cables for my printer and keyboard, which look almost the same, to the wrong USB ports on the back of my PC. I usually have the keyboard plugged into a system USB port, while the printer is hooked up to a PCI USB card, which I installed later after buying the computer. Needless to say, my system bios doesn't seem to recognize that PCI USB card on startup, which is the reason I didn't have a keyboard until after Windows loaded, which does recognize the card.

Hahaha, that would do it. I was thinking either you put them in the wrong ports or you went and did the unthinkable and didn't plug it in all the way.

No problem John and im happy you sorted it out yourself.. some-times we get these lessons and still go ahead and do the same things over again, at least you gave Paul\hellnoire a laugh
i wouldn't have had the heart to ask you to check your connections again...that's what i like about Paul straight to the point...

We all have, it's why I laughed. Because it's the common problem: we put too much or too little pressure on something, we plug something in wrong... it's the bane of tech support, especially when you're troubleshooting online. Many ways there are to skin a cat, but only one is the proper way.

I'm not always right to the point. I've mistaken things before, and I'll mistake them again, I'm better in person then online, but that's how it is and how she flies, as they say. Either way, no worries as I say

Please feel free to do so! I have a very thick skin and don't take offense at much anymore, unless its totally outrageous in my opinion!

Usually when i take something apart i memorize the order it take it apart even if it's been manytimes, i suppose that's the mechanic in me, and sometimes its easy to assume everone is the same..
We all make mistakes i just meant Paul is more hit than miss...and cuts to the chase...
Im fairly easy going anyway and here to make friends as i have seen some really talented and well educated people solve problems.. and better still if you help some-one or the work it out for themselves they are happy to share in the community.
