    Pretty good or overpriced?

My cousin's lap just broke down and she needs a new one NOW, like "tomorrow" kind of now since she has no desktop. she can't sit and wait for good deals. She wants something around 1000 bucks canadian (which plus taxes is around 1100 bucks in american). I helped her look around and she chose the Toshiba Satellite L675-01R which is priced at 999.99

The spec seems ok, except the product has no reviews and I can't really determine whether it's worth the money.

Should I tell her to go for this one or pick something else at the website?
    Will appreciate any input!

I just bought though TigerDirect.ca, and they ship with UPS, so they will charge you about 3-5% of the cost via fees. And last I checked, we are under the Americans in terms of exchange rate.

Those points aside, it's pretty good, and good enough for doing anything, including games. The only thing you might want to consider is down the road a larger battery, but that's about it.

I like it has the core i5, and DDR3 but for that price i hope it makes coffee, a friend of mine has one with lesser specs than your cousin is thinking of purchasing and i thought this one was a great performer as laptops go.. what it all comes down to is what does your cousin intend to use the laptop for.. overpriced for word doc and surfing the web.. not read many complaints on the Irish forums about Toshiba

She intends to use it for some games and heavy photo editing, so I thought the i5 might do her good. I'll tell her to go for it then! thanks for the replies
