HP's 2310e is less than an inch thick, packs 1080p display, asks for $289 tithe

After the 2310m comes the, erm, 2310e. HP has put its 1080p-resolving 23-inch monitor on a strict training regimen and returned with this new unit that checks in at under an inch in thickness. The 2310e brings as much gloss as a humanoid can handle, even going so far as to replace the usual buttons with touch-sensitive light-up controls. Speaking of light, the jumbo HP logo on the back blossoms in a lustrous white when you turn it on. If that doesn't curb your enthusiasm for this cake slicer, you'll want to know it has DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, 250 nits of brightness, a 5ms response time, and an admittedly meaningless 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Price is set at $289 and US availability is expected on September 29th.

Looks impressive Prakash and would be great for watching movies on, add to it the style and what seems a reasonable price and they are on to a winner, not sure i like the idea of the hp logo lighting up at the pack but i will not be looking there, 23 inch monitor is good enough for me, so i would consider this for myself, but as it's not available yet i would wait and read the reviews to help me decide if i would change or not.

Looks very nice! I've had a 22" monitor for about 4 years now, but I paid a wee bit more than $289 for it.

I remember when 20 plus inch flat screens first came out, they were very expensive, so when they dropped to the $300 range I bought one. Now of course, they are even cheaper yet. I agree that the HP model is a bit pricey, and I know a person could do better somewhere else, like NewEgg.

I'll admit, my monitor is thicker then that... and I paid more, but I can do Component in, VGA/DVI/ in, Digital audio In/Out, two HDMI in, a Satellite/Cable in, and headphone out.... a lot. It's actually meant to be a TV, but I'm using it for a monitor. For about $400.

Now, if I can get the model up... then I also get RCA connections too. And two DVI in. I'm using a Samsung... though I forget the model number. Once I get that, I'll post which one it is... but that will be tomorrow lol.

For all that functionality, $400 still isn't a bad price. I never considered using a TV as a pc monitor. Interesting concept, I might have to look into it further for my new PC.

I use a 24' monitor so I can see. Old age = weak eyes. Plus it's great for graphics.
I paid a lot less on a closeout deal, but it doesn't have all of the goodies of this one.
I'll wait until the price drops, though, as that is a bit pricey for a 24" monitor.
    Nice find!

It's got the ports... might as well

T240 HD is the model number, and I've seen it as Costco for about $300.

Thanks for the info Paul. Will definitely check it out, when I start building my new PC. Hopefully this winter.
