What burning software (Nero/Ashampoo/ImgBurn/BurnAwar/CDBurnerXP/FinalBurner/?) you use with what settings (writing speed, simulation mode, DAO, etc.)?
1. Try different program for writing DVD.
2. If it is in warranty, RTM it, as it is common problem also happened to me.

This is an old DVD reader and most can only read and not write, maybe the later ones could write, it depends on the model, googling the one you have comes up as read only.

That's "write", pardon the pun.
And Google and I have a love/hate relationship. I love finding things out though it... it hates to have me use it sometimes.
