    CPU Coolers

Looking at CPU coolers lately and the various prices that go from really cheap to fairly expensive, there are passive coolers, air coolers and contained water coolers, most stock coolers can be adaquate.

Has anyone here used the contained water cooler such as the Corair Memory Hydro, as it seems like a great idea and quiet, but the idea of putting water inside of a pc case has me a little concerned.

I haven't used the Corsair myself, such as the [url=http://www.corsair.com/products/h50/default.aspx]H50 but it is a sealed unit, and it is liquid, but not water. I've never seen precisely what fluid is used, but it is said to be non conductive. If it doesn't get contaminated by dust, it would remain non conductive. In any case, I've never heard of an instance of one leaking except where it was physically damaged by the owner. They are quiet, and would be useful if you are doing an extreme overclock. If you have good case airflow, and are even doing a reasonable overclock, an air cooler is more than sufficient. If you want excelent cooling and a great price, look into the [url=http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-B10-212P-G1-Universal-Heat-Pipe/dp/B002G1YPH0]Coolermaster Hyper 212 + This is the cooler I use on my overclocked i5 750, and it idles at 30c and even after 8 hours with Prime95 it never hit more than 57c. So many good choices available, you need to read some reviews at places like [url=http://www.frostytech.com/]Frostytech . A Guy

I also agree with A Guy. Water/Liquid cooling kits are for extreme over-clockers. If you live in cooler region, then there is no need of such kits even for moderate-high overclocking. Air cooler are more than enough for slight-moderate overclocking. I am using Cooler Master Hyper N520 for my system.

Thanks guys i don't know what liquid is used, i have no intention of severe overclocking at anytime or using liquid nitrogen , rare we have really hot weather here even on a good summer, as i would like good air cooling i will look into an air cooled unit suggested by a guy, non conductive sounds like it's oil based.

Thank you for the tip BoyFriend as the coolermaster Hyper N50 is very reasonable in price.
