my computor boots twice !
Hi everyone !
I 've just built up a computor with :
GA-P55-USB3
Intel core I5 760
ocz DDR2 2x2 Go pc12800 Obsidian Editon
Sapphire Radeon HD 5450
samsung spinpoint F3 SATA -1000Go
each time when the computor boots up ,after Bios checking and after power on self test
on the top of monitor's screen : loading operating system .... and then it shuts down . after
3 or 4 seconds later ,it turns on again itself and it loads windows normally.
my question is : how can i change in Bios to boot it up at one time ! not twice ! thanks

Is it a new PSU?
Why would you use DDR2 ram for I5? Radeon HD 5450? What you gonna do with 64-bit GPU? Watch HD movie and search web only? This GPU is a sucker. It's required 400 Watt power supply.
If you want to take advantage of I5, then you should use DDR3 ram and DDR5 GPU.

# Luffy, your remarks are correct, but it was not the question.
# Pandalittle, check your RAM with Cleanmem. It could also be an insufficient power supply unit. Take out you HD 5450 and see if the proplem persist if you use the graphic chip of your mobo instead.

Hi you all . I 've checked my power supply ,it's Adiance model n° ATX-5000 ,output 480W max (vp-5001A) . I 've token out HD 5450 it 's still the same problem,
I haven't Cleanmem to test . thanks

I know that u have done that million times already, but check all the connections. I dont think it's BIOS settings, it's component or connection problem pretty sure pandalittle

Hi everyone , thank you to reply me. but I think it's a default of mother board : Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 .REV: 2.0 . no-one has the same motherboard ? as the second boot's all ok . but it's annoying !!

I said Cleanmem, but I actually meant Memtest, a program that checks if your RAM is faulty.
You can download it, burn it to disk and boot from there.
http://www.memtest86.com/download.html
I had a similar problem as you years ago and using Memtest I found out that my faulty RAM was the culprit.

Hi Kees I've made a bootable cd with memtest-86 V3.5 . I got pass complete .no errors. it's all ok. I've tried another way to test it, there are 4 sockets for the memory carte in this mother board :
channel 0 ; DDr3_1,DDR3_2
channel1: DDR3_3 ,DDR3_4
dual channel Memory Configuration Table:
two modules must be in ; DDR3_1 and DDR3_3
four modules must be in : DDR_2 .DDR3_1.DDR3_4.DDR3_3
if only one DDR3 memory module is installed,be sure to install it in the DDR3_1 or DDR3_3
as I've two memories of DDR3-OCZ PC12800 ,not DDR2 as mention above.sorry about that !
I put them in DDR3_1 and DDR3_3 - this configuration give me a double booting (twice)
if I pull out one memory from DDR3_1 - this configuration give me only one booting it's good ! I 've only 2Go memory. only DDR3_3 socket have the memory .
if I pull out this memory carte from DDR3_3 and put it in DDR3_1--the same carte memory --i got a continuous bip !! biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip
I try with the another one memory-carte , I got the same result. biiiiiiiiiiip _only in DDR3_1 socket !!
I wonder if this mother board is out ! any idea ?

Good point Philip Welcome to the forum, and this is one of the first things i would have tried myself to save pulling it apart as win 7 is a quick install, the guys that gave the information all gave solid reasons as to why this was happening also, what it really comes down to with fault finding is a process of elimination, there are many under powered and poor performing psu's on the market now

Hi pandalittle!
Building a PC all by yourself it's not an easy task. So I think the issue is due to a compatibility issue between any of the parts you chose. Go to the motherboard's vendor website and check out the supported CPU list and supported memories list. There should certainly be on of those or both.
Screw Google! Ask me!
