The SSD infrastructure is not really design to be secure but rather optimized for usability. What about its life expectancy?

That's the million dollar question Ceyfer although warranty varies some are three and upto five years but this depends how you put them to use as warranty can be easily void, i would reccomend a bit of research as this is a fast changing piece of hardware and reliability is getting better with each generation and prices are dropping... the only use i would have for it is to put the O\S on and use mechanical storage for files
