    SSD's anybody using them ?

Read on the OS 8 thread that Raymond is using an SSD drive and has faster boot and logoff times and i was wondering as Bear and myself are both thinking of adding an SSD drive to our builds does anyone have a recomendation as i have read of high failure rates although in some cases warranty is now three years and Sandisk have one for 10 years although im not sure if this one is only for data storage rather than an operating system i will have to check it out further as it is reasonably priced.

Any experience would be greatly appreciated ....

Do note that not all SSD drives have equal speed. Check out some of the reviews out there with comparison.
Buy a smaller size SSD drive and set it as primary to install your OS and software.
Always put your data on your secondary normal hard drive.

Thank you for the replies, i intend to read as much about them before i buy and the good ones have their own forums... This will be the last piece i buy before running the new pc, laptops benifit in a big, alot give you the hrs that they say the drive will stay stable and i don't think windows is that friendly to these drives, so i will wait and read about the latest releases..
What drive did you go for Raymond on your Laptop out of curiosity..?

Believe he said in a previous post we went with a Corsair but I'm not sure, I know he's posted it elsewhere.

Hi Jay. hellnoire is correct. I asked Raymond the same question, and he told me he had a Corsair SSD. I personally like Corsair hardware, as it seems to be of good quality and I have had good luck wiith it.

Thank you Paul and Bear, i know Raymond is always busy and im not sure if i should go Corsair or Kingston although Corsair have come on leaps and bounds and they make solid hardware.. appreciate the help, Corsair are slightly more expensive and worthy of consideration...

It is still costly to buy one SSD here in RP. Meanwhile, I need to patiently wait for cheaper offerings this coming summer.

I bought Corsair because so far I've used their fastest USB flash drive, the GT and GTR which is still fast and working until today.
To be exact, it is a Corsair Force SSD.
