Seagate launches superthin USB 3.0 harddrive
Seagate GoFlex Slim is the world's thinnest external harddrive and despite a profile of only 9mm the drive houses 320GB data and offers good performance over the latest SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. The harddrive builds on the Seagate 2.5" Momentus Thin that operate at 7200 RPM and offers transfer speeds north of 110 MB/s. Seagate has realized that more and more users equip its notebooks with relativel small SSDs. As computers become slimmer and slimmer the demands for external storage solutiosn increase, not just for space but also design.
Seagate GoFlex Slim will reply to this demand with its record thin design and high performance. With a 7200 RPM harddrive and USB 3.0 interface it can push performance far over USB 2.0. The harddrive have showed results over 114 MB/s, which dropped dramatically to 29MB/s with the USB 2.0 interface
Seagate charges quite a premium price for the thin GoFlex Slim harddrive, 70€. The 320GB drive supports both PC and Mac with automatic backups. Seagate is planning a special version of GoFlex Slim that in a silver case to support Apple Time Machine with HFS+ filesystem.

70 euro for 320 GB looks pricey, but the stats look good, let the competition begin i can wait a bit to try them out

I'd rather be fishing!
I will be interested to see just how much faster the USB 3.0 interface will be.
