Ivy Bridge to come in 2nd Quarter of 2012

Sources indicated that Intel would only launch its 22nm Ivy Bridge CPU during the second quarter of 2012 and not first quarter as previously speculated.

Reports have indicated that Intel has talked to its partners and revealed that Ivy Bridge is to be launched during Q2 2012 instead of Q1. Consumers holding out on their purchase for Ivy Bridge may want to reconsider getting the current Sandy Bridge CPU as Q2 2012 is a long way to go (about a year from now). Otherwise, one can only hope there would be an earlier launch instead.

Thank you Prakash maybe when it is released might be a time to think about a upgrade although at least a year a way it's still too early to change to be honest but if it's a good chip by the time im thinking of it the prices should be worth consideration.

all i need now is in-expensive programs that can take advantage of the proccessor i have now. makes sense to buy a decent pc case at least or maybe a test bench depending on pricing.

Thank you for the info Prakash. At the pace I am going in buying components for a new build, Ivy Bridge may just be available!

from the way things are going of late there should be quite a few bargains Bear, i hope Ivy bridge is as well recieved as was Sandy bridge and Intel don't take a step backwards....the most fun is resourcing the parts and reading reviews although i don't trust all reviewers, it's worth a look around.
