Corsair Unleashes Its Force Series GT SSD

Corsair's Force Series GT SSD is targeted at hardware enthusiasts who will appreaciate the performance it has to offer. Using the new SandForce SF-2280 SSD processor and ONFI synchronous flash memory, the Force Series GT is able to deliver read speeds of 555MB/s, write speeds of 525MB/s and up to 85,000 random write IOPS. Although the Force Series GT SSD is a SATA 3 model, it will still be backward compatible with SATA 2 ports, allowing more options for consumers. The Corsair Force Series GT SSD will be available in July with a suggested retail price of US$149 for the 60GB and US$279 for the 120GB model. Pricing for the 240GB model is still unavailable.

Thanks for the news Prakash. The Corsair Force Series SSD's look to be incredibly fast and if they are as reliable as Corsair RAM, then they will be well worth checking out for my new build.

Corsair and OCZ seem neck and neck with their releases of SSD's fantastic read write results, OCZ 182 euro for 120 Gb looks interesting and something to decide on in a couple of weeks time..

Thank you for the update Prakash.. some updates to hardware can be slow to reach Ireland and the UK compared to the USA.

I am using the Force Series and already is already satisfied with the 285 MB/s sequential read — 275 MB/s sequential write.
Force Series GT at 555 MB/s sequential read — 515 MB/s sequential write?!??!

To be honest Bear it's amazing i can have a video running surf the web run an AV and use word, and play freecell and nothing impacts the running of the O/S even with the extra security and although the last PC was a quad core Q6600 i wouldn't go back.. this one has alot more control over the CPU and the Ram along with the WD black drives...but the most astonishing part is how quiet and cool it runs...i see now there are quite a few bits of hardware getting released for USB 3.0 and not to badly priced either..

I have the Q6700 CPU in this PC and it really is no slouch when it comes to performance. But I have a feeling that compared to the new PC, it will seem like a turtle.
