Feedback needed Please
Kind of a hardware/software question-if I install DVD burning software before I install DVD burning hardware, can I expect the software to work straight away,or would I have to re install the software? I'm looking at the Wondershare freebie, and haven't purchased a burner yet.

Good question detailer, for an unusual situation.
My guess would be that you would not need to re-install the software. You'll most likely get some sort of error message generated by the burning software if you run it prior to connecting an optical drive, telling you that it cannot detect any CD/DVD drives. Once a drive is connected however, everything should be okay.

Thanks Jim-I thought it should work, and would expect the "device not found" message as my current drive burns CD and reads DVD-a second burner(for which I have an open bay) would make the comp. more productive for sure.

If you install the dvd burning software first, running it would only tell you that no burning device detected.
And when you install the dvd burner hardware, the software should automatically detect and use it.
If it doesn't auto detect, there should be an option for you to manually select the drive to use to burn.
