    OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB PCIe SSD

OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB SSD Features and Specifications:
    Max Read: 1500 MB/s
    Max Write: 1250 MB/s
    4KB Random Write (QD64, 4K Aligned, 8GB LBA): 200,000 IOPS

PCI-Express SSD (PCIe Gen2 x4) designed to deliver both ultra-high performance and affordability for high-power users, multimedia designers, and workstation applications. Bootable drive (unique from competing solutions) so users can enjoy enhanced OS performance OCZ SuperScale™ storage accelerator enables scalable SSD performance and reduces the host CPU burden inherent to competing PCIe solutions. This controller, combined with VCA 2.0, provides unique benefits to the user by allowing certain DMA and data management functions including OCZ’s unique command queuing and queue balancing algorithms to be handled by the onboard processing core, resulting in higher drive performance and minimized burden on the host CPU.

It would be fun to have one of these bad boys to play around with, but at $500 US a pop, it isn't going to happen!!! But it is still fun to dream.

Have seen a few scores of people using these. Blazingly fast, but I don't need so much speed

I admit it, I am a "speed junky" when it comes to computer hardware! But there is a limit to the amount of money I am willing to spend for it. I'm sure at some point RevoDrives will come down in price and then I can "satisfy my addiction".

I like the speed also Bear, even without bottlenecks i still wanted the pc to be more responsive, there are hundreds of tips and tricks, but on the other hand why compensate when you can have it all, why disable anything unless it is a security hazzard.

The differences of late or from experience are really pleasing, still im yet to experience an SSD maybe early next year, but the Revo drive definately seems to trounce the SSD for data transfer and even though expensive the price is worth keeping an eye on.

Thanks for the update news Bear.

Hi Jay! I like that Revo drives run from PCIe2. My Asus board has the capability of booting from PCIe so I could run the OS from a Revo drive. Boot times for my SSD are pretty fast, so I'll just bet a Revo drive would be incredibly fast! I will just have to be patient and wait for prices to come down, but they always do.

Hey Uncle Bear. Maybe you can buy a Revo drive for my new computer as a Christmas present! Hint, hint!

Hey, I'm all for this drive. It would be enough space for me that I'd actually consider buying an SSD.

Don't like the price of it but if I wait a bit, might get some deals... I hope.

(I'd actually have to buy the drive before I can tell if my mobo would support it. If not... well boo.)

Well, maybe by the time the Revo drive comes down in price, you'll be ready to replace the MB too.
