    Rampage III Extreme

The good news at least for me is the return of the Rampage III motherboard and after many e-mails, although the final one was actuallly answered with some-one making sense.

The original problem was a black screen and uncontrolled fans running at 12 volt, and after various checks it was sent back and although im gratefull for the return and it's in good working order i would like to have had an engineers report as to why the mobo failed... the psu gpu and cpu where fine the ram is perfect all around six months old.

You mean after all you went through, you they didn't tell you what was wrong? I suppose most of the time the person they dealing with doesn't care, as long as they get the hardware back in working order, but it would still be nice to know!!! Well, at least you can get your PC back up and running now.

i was hoping they would have sent the details on, no matter what is broke i like to know why and how it happened, one reason i took up a career as a mechanic... on the return form i was told i would be kept upto-date and told of the results, i suppose i can take the good from it and it was repaired without extra costs.....

Well it's up and running and i hope it's the last of the problems with the board.. after reading a few complaints and the psu been blamed, im happy enough..

The fear would be that they found nothing, and finally returned it Since it's working, we can assume they did indeed fix it

That thought crossed my mind also, but one would hope that a reputable company like Asus wouldn't stoop to those measures.

Hi Jay. Hope everything is working OK with your computer now that you got the MB repaired.

Thank you BigGuy, im using raid 0 now and the response times are fantastic and im considering a Revo drive maybe for my next upgrade or a sound system, i really hope that things are going well for you towards your new build.

To be honest A Guy i would have liked some feed back as i tried the known fixes before sending it back, the reputation came down to pixmania rather than Asus, the temps on the N/B and S/B are 10 degrees cooler and stable.

I can't blame you for that Jay, as I would feel same way myself about it.

Especially with that board they should understand you are an enthusiast and PC savvy. They should understand you spent extra $ for that board, and would want to know what they found and what they did to fix it. Perhaps they believe that the less they say, the less that will end up posted on the net. A Guy
