    Keyboard failure - KeyScrambler.

    Dear all,

    I had a problem in the last few days: the keyboard (KB) of my laptop (and any other USB keyboards) didn't word any more.

    I could use the KB within the BIOS and the special buttons (like Kome, E-Mail. etcetera) were also working. But all the other functionality was gone.

    Then I found this thread. It suggested to go to this reg-key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and to check what follows: "There should be only one entry in the Value Name : “Upperfilters” and the “Value Data” should be “kbdclass”" .

    Well... as first line in my registry there was "keyscrambler".

    I deleted it and everything now is back normal.

    It seems that few days ago, when I uninstalled keyscrambler, something took the wrong way. I used the built-in windows uninstalling manager.

    Well.. it was just to share this with you, in case something similar happens.

    Cheers,
    lello.siddi.

    Thanks for sharing.
    It's weird that the KeyScrambler uninstaller did not clean up the upperfilter.
    They should take note of this so that it won't cause such problems in future.

    Yeap was wondering why did you uninstall KeyScrambler?
    I have yet to find a keylogger that is able capture the keystrokes when KeyScrambler is active.

    1) Probably, I don't know the real truth beneath point 2) and 3);
    2) I fell safe enough by using the dual channel obfuscation in KeePass;
    3) I didn't like when KeyScarmbler started type random characters.
