What do you think about this idea?

Please guys tell me if this going to work or not. I think it to replace my laptop WIFI antennas that are located on top of screen with 1 or 2 more powerful external antennas. All I need is to find 2 cables with 2 different heads, just like the ones in the picture below. The picture should explain more:

I'm not sure if that would work or not.
Why not just save some money and buy either Alfa or Signalking wireless adapter which is proven to have really good reception?

I have two external antennas but need to find the cables to give it a try and then, if it works I'm gonna modify my laptop
Doing some more researches found that all I need is an u.fl to SMA adaptor cable. But not sure if local stores will have

Sounds interesting and something i would certainly try myself, im all for modification what ever the form, let us know how it went LizardMan... i have modded cars bikes pc's and sensors, it all adds to the fun, as long as you keep the shielding intact there should be no problems...

I will post here again the result but can't find that cable, I have searched everywhere :/
