Also, even though 64Gb sounds like a lot, it really isn't when you consider that it's not recommended to fill the ssd to more than about 70-75% full so things like TRIM have enough space to spread the wear across the drive more evenly. If you're only using it for the o/s and a few apps / games 64Gb will be fine.
Hi Anakey. This is a reply that hal wrote in a post to BigGuy, who was looking at the Crucial M4 64 GB SATA III SSD. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, along with the app's I have installed take up about 26 Gbs of space on my SSD. So in your case it all depends on how many games and software app's you want to install on your SSD.
Whoops, I see hal beat me to it.

There is really only the os and one game that i will probably install to the ssd, everything else will go onto the HDD

You should be fine then. You are going to love having the OS installed on an SSD. My boot times are very fast and the app's open almost instantly. Little things like large file transfers are also very fast, especially if the data is going onto a SATA III HDD. Another thing I like about SSD's is that they don't need to be defragmented.

One thing that you will probably find, after the initial shock at how quick everything is, you get used to the speeds of an SSD very quickly and it soon becomes 'normal'.
The shock in reverse soon hits though, when you watch an O/S boot from a standard HDD thinking there's something wrong because it's so slow!!
Another thing I like about SSD's is that they don't need to be defragmented.
I've been very tempted to defrag my SSD several times in the last year because it's ~30% fragged. Keep having to remind myself it's not needed and will likely do more harm than good in the long run!

I think your new build looks great and I hope you have as much fun as I did assembling it!

I know what you mean. After all those years of faithfully defragging my HDD's, it's gotten to be a routine that is hard to break.
