Hi,
I have a Western Digital 120G harddisk that is spoilt after checking with the technician. He advised me to return it as it is still under warranty which is under 3 years. The shop charges rm50 to take back to WD and replace. If I were to take the disk to WD myself, will it be problem like no service to buyer and so on. Never been to WD before so not sure where the customer office is, if there is one. Anyone tried to return a WD before. Thanks. :)

Usually if the hardware has 3 years warranty, the first year they'll help you send it to the manufacturer. And you know what, *SOME* computer shops take their own sweet time to do that.
If you do it yourself, it shouldn't be too hard. Western Digital is a big company and customer service should be great. Just make sure you bring the receipt as proof of purchase. Try calling their toll-free at 1-800-88-1908 to get more information on the procedure.

I also have a WD 80Gb harddrive which is kinda K.O. But when i checked, I suspect its a power failure. Is it possible for me to return it to the manufacturer to get it fixed and retain the data inside?

If it's not the platter, then perhaps you could. You have to personally let WD people know that you still want to retain your data.
