Hello. I have this motherboard that has been sent to Intel for a fix for sound card because the sound was distorted. After receiving the Motherboard from Intel, the sound was still distorted. I tried to complain and have it sent again to the Intel. But sadly it is still the same. Do anybody know what's the problem? Is it because of there are wires that I plugged wrong? Or what? :D

I've tested my speakers and they are fine.

Try lowering the volume in Windows Volume Control and also your media player.

Once I thought I blew my altec lansing speakers because every song I play is distorted. I brought it to computer shop and they tested it fine infront of me! I was really embarrassed. Later I found out that the volume in Winamp was at 100%. Lowered winamp volume, turned up the speaker volume and it sounded perfect.

Still the same. The sound is still distorted. And also there are parts that plays without sound. It's like that the wires are loose. But when I played it with another computer, they are ok, and the sound is ok too. It's weird isn't it? Are there any possible explanation on it?

No idea at all when it comes to electronics. Once I had a motherboard that has problems with the LTP port, sent the board a few times but they did not fix the problem. I had to buy a USB to LTP cable.

If they are unable to fix it, just buy a cheap sound card.

Most cheap sounds cards are better than onboard sound anyway. Onboard sound is terrible unless it's an expensive quality motherboard.

Can you describe the noise? What happens when you try to play a song? Do you mean its like a crackling noise?

@Raymond Maybe. I have sent it for about 3 times already and it is still the same.

@Woody The sound was cranky. Even worse than a radio station that has bad signal. And there are some parts that won't be playing at all. Like when you play a music file which has 30 sec long, it sould play but there would be no sound for a sec or 2 but it is still playing normally. Just the sound that don't work properly. I've emailed to Intel already and still no reply yet.

That's pretty bad. So obvious problem yet they didn't fix it? Try plugging in your headphones.

Yeah. Would plugging in headphones make difference? I don''t have headphones here. And won't Intel spend more money for shipping the defected motherboard than just fixing it? It took for almost 5 days to ship to Malaysia and receive it from them. And it's kinda hassle.

Plugging in your headphone will tell you if the problem is at the mainboard or your speakers.
