    hi,
thanks for the previous problem solution
but here is a new one.

my computer becomes very slow to work with, therefore i decided to repair my win xp but when i tried to boot my computer thru the xp cd, the computer just shows a black screen for 5-6 secs and then boots normally from HD starting win xp. i have checked my BIOS boot configuration and it was correct, the cd was working(i checked it on other computer), i tried the same with hiren's boot cd but was unable to boot.

the problem has appeared after changing my Cd/DVD from from Sony to LG. i have also checked my optical drive and found it working as it should in xp.

pls how to solve this problem?

    thanks in advance.

Make sure the BIOS is detecting your new Sony DVD drive but not LG. Best is set it to auto detect.
You said that there's 5-6 seconds of black screen, try hitting any keys and see whether it boot from the disc or not.
