I had a MSI K9N mobo with realtek HD audio 7.1

When I plug the mic into the back panel pink jack..the realtek read it as line out for sub instead of mic plug in. if i changed it to line in for mic then realtek doesnt recognize the jack.

when i try to record sound and play it also give error "Not enough memory available to complete this operation. Quit one or more application to increase available memory".

I got 3 GB of memory and less than 20% is utilize. I dont understand why this message pop up.

Does anyone come across similiar problem?

    Thanks for any ideas given.

What program did you use to record? Try Windows Sound Recorder. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder.

Yeap, i try using windows sound recorder but it gave me that error. I was just testing the mic but it seems that realtek keep detecting the mic jack that i plug in is a subwoofer or line output. if i change it manually to mic it would just pop up error saying unsupported jack.

the weird thing when the mic is plug in and shows as line output then when I play music, the record volume goes up as if reading from the speaker. but when i off the music and try speaking to the mic the record volume does not move at all.

the mic just stop working couple of weeks ago and initially i thought i needed the latest realtek driver. but after installing the latest driver still the same.

By the way, the driver that i download is realtek HD audio 7.1 ALC883.

Yup. I have the same mobo and I had a similar problem.

My mic line just stopped working.
I couldn't fix it and it still doesn't work.

The only thing is to get the new drivers and then you have to option to use any input and turn it into a mic, line out, line in etc...

If you still manage to fix this problem any other way, don't hesitate and tell me it could be a big help.
    Something to remember...

I had tried installing the latest drivers but still doesn't work. All the options are greyed out except the mic volume and adjusting the mic volume doesn't do much.

Mic is detected as line output. I had search almost everywhere for solutions but cant seem to find any.
If anyone has any ideas or solutions please let me know. Thanks guys.
