Hi,
I bought a new pc and tried to install some new progs from a hard disk of a neighbor. After inst. I removed It and gave It back I the noticed the safely remove hardware icon on my desktop even when there is no hard disk or USB connected to my comp. When I try to click it and remove it I cant. and when ever I try to do so It says that cannot stop try again later.
Then due to non genuine xp gave my comp to a store to inst. new genuine xp. After this I went to take It a when I chkd and asked him what is this prob. he said that this is the prob of im proper removal of the portable hdd and that some memory of the hdd remained in my comp.. And the problem still exists. I want to sove this prob as the icon still appears inmy comp.

Well when you double click the Safely Remove Harwdare icon, is there any device on the list which you can unplug or eject?

It shows some alphanumeric number like WD235EY23523 like. and when I click on stop, it says cannot be stopped now, and yes, it also shows the 2 hdds c: and d: also but nothing I can remove or unplug.
By the way how can I insert images in the post so that I can show you the screenshot of my desktop and the safely remove window to make you understand what the prob really is?

Yes, I am from saudi arabia, I am native indian but I reside in KSA. I have been here from the last 17 yrs. But, y r u asking this to me?

it's okay to upload a image just put the link between the image wrapper things [img]the url imageshack provides[/img] then it will become a image on the forum also for the best quality don't re size it
