    Quote Disk read Error

    Hello! Everybody I am vicky.

I have bought a new 160GB hard disk of WESTERN DIGITAL company
on 28 JUNE 2008.After I buyed this hardrive my computer works normal but
suddenly on 24 JULY 2008 when I started my computer I was shocked
    it displays:

    DiskreadError.
    Press ctrl+alt+delete to restart.

after no. of times I restarted I got the same message then I contacted my vendor from where I bought it, he said your windows files are corrupted and you have to reformat it again.I told him that I have some important files in my C drive then he is telling about his charges for formatting and data recovery. Thanks to my friend GOLU.He taken out my hardrive and then from his computer I saved my files to my d drive and reformatted it again
but I can't understand in my computer why it is showing disk read error although i can see my files in my friends computer.
I thought my problem was resolved but on 3rd september it did come again this time I don't have that much imp file in c drive. This time I reformatted my comp by myself but after 2 days it did come gain i reformatted it again this time .Now this problem is coming again and again I am getting totally annoyed by this problem from that time onwards I have searched through various forum and searched internet but I have got no solution for this prloblem anywhere.
Some where I have readen that WESTERN DIGITAL hardrive have known issue with winxp means it doesn't support NTFS filesystem sometimes in winxp I changed my C drive from NTFS to FAT32 but I didn't get the rid from the problem.

I have tryed sometimes no. of restart and to my shocking notice my winxp starts and I am trying this from few days my computer starts after approx. 20 to 25 no. of restarts but I want the complete solution for it ,should I replace my Harddrive

Sorry! for my poor english and for such a long post.

I have encountered this problem before at work and I tried using an IDE to USB adapter and Windows would almost freeze trying to read it. Sadly, it was the worst case i.e. Hard Drive died

XP should support a 160GB hard drive without problems no matter FAT or NTFS.

So it seemed like Windows automatically got corrupted by itself pretty easily.
It's hard for me to tell whether it is hardware or software problem but you should try to determine whether it is because of virus or some software which you've used that is causing it.

I'd suggest you to reinstall Windows, and then redownload and install whatever you need.
