Angry Cannot format my hard disk

I have been using my portable hard disk now for 1 year and have formated it a couple of times but all of a sudden it doesn't properly format. Before formatting the hard disk I was loosing information every time. I used 'quick format' but after it completes format, the information i put in the hard disk still gets lost. Can anyone help me? I hope Raymond has a solution!

Try to disable the quick removal for the drive. I had a problem similar on my X-hdd, where windows kept coming up with format errors. It worked after that. If that doesnt work, I'd boot from the windows disk or gParted and attempt to do it there.

That is what happens when you format a hard disk. It deletes everything in the drive.

I think you guys misread the problem. It seems to me as if he is loosing information when writing to disk. Maybe it is due to the disk not being safely removed and some data which still is in the cache then getting lost.
