    Big Grin Ubuntu or Kubuntu

    Im new to the world of linux...i have choosen ubuntu to begin with.
    should i go for KDE or Gnome? or I can choose mint linux..or any other distro
    ..please help me

    You can go with Gnome which is stable and fast enough, if you want a Windows like, you can choose KDE but it's kind of buggy and slower than Gnome.

    All my tutorials are written so they are aimed at the GNOME settings, however, KDE's are often very close to. If you'd like something that appears out of the box more like Windows, KDE's your route. Be forewarned though, as YuMeng said, it can be very slow and draggy at times. GNOME's lighter then that, but not by much.

    Other distros can be good too. Puppy's ingenious for a light OS, that's for sure.
