Audacious2, Amarok or Banshee Media Player?
I'm using Xubuntu now...it comes with Exaile Music Player but it doesn't seem that good. I've been trying to compare between the three more popular music players....Audacious2, Amarok or Banshee Media Player?
I know hellnoire is using Audacious2....but how about Amarok or Banshee? All three seem good...can anyone here tell me the 'main' differences?
They call me the mysterious one...

i'm using plain old rhythmbox with desktop art and shoutcast plugin.

Amarok and Banshee are library based, Audacious is playlist based. That's the main difference.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

Lol fair enough. I'm going to be trying Arch and Puppy soon.

Arch & Puppy? Oh no...you're just giving me more options (and headache) lol

Well, if you use ATI 2XXX and above, it's not worth it to use Arch. Puppy's lightweight and designed to be user friendly. But stick to Ubuntu for now. It has the widest support, unlike any of the ones I just named. I stuck with Ubuntu for nearly two years before looking at any other distro. It's a great OS to learn the basics, and from there, you can leap to a different distro via Virtual PCs.

I use Songbird and good old Rhythmbox for my ipod. They rock.

I think VLC has more features than all which are mentioned here.

VLC is designed to be an all-around player, hideipuser. And while it does, officially, play more, some of us just want something specialized. Considering most audio programs clock in at under 200 mb? That's not hard to give up lol.
