Does Linux distros need real time virus protection?

@Safeguy: If you feel linux is not graphically good, then i wish you should try kubuntu 9.10. I am having it on my pc as a dual boot with windows and trust me, its desktop environment is better than what windows has.

Is there any two way firewall for linux ? I really need it. For the moment I am using Gufw.

Gufw will be able to handle that. Just set it to blacklist everything by default, then white list as you go... it's not user friendly, but it works.

kde is sluggish..gnome is good and you could try getting themes for it if you care about looks

If you want something like Gnome but faster, XFCE is good.
If you want something like KDE but faster, LXDE is good.
