    Slackware Review

Browsing around and searching about Slackware, I came across this review http://me.isnick.net/2009/08/31/slackware-13-0-review/

Beside what the review says, I heard it's the most stable linux distro at the time.
So I'm gonna give it a try...

    Best Regards!!!

I would suggest to you Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

Let him try what he wants.

Believe it or not, that's the best way to learn, to jump around and try different things.

Salix I loved and Zenwalk was nice, but in the world of Linux, or at least for me, I couldn't stick with them. Salix's only major problem, I found, was the exclusion of restricted drivers, but on my laptop, it worked fine and I'm tempted to use it for the Linux OS. Zenwalk... ugh, the package manager sucks. And to update manually each package... no thanks.

To be honest... my favourite OSes are Salix (Slackware-based), Mandriva (Red Hat-based), Ubuntu (Debian-based), Debian, and Debris (Ubuntu/Debian-based)
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

Debian's old and that's why I'd not recommend it... a two hour install to install the base system, even on my high speed... yeah, not recommended.

(Yeah, they have a net install disk but unless you have super fast internet, I don't recommend it)
