Media Player
Could someone recommend a good music and /or video player fro 9.10? The Rhythmbox Music Player that came installed seems to need a plugin that isn't available, (ASF Demuxer), so I can't play MP3's when I'm running Linux. I am just starting to use Linux, so please bear with me, if I ask some seeming dumb questions!
Thanks, John

First and foremost, go to the Software Center and type in 'gstreamer' and install all of them, or you can install the 'Ubuntu Restricted Extras'.
That will allow for media playback of MP3 or AVI, etc.
Now, for video, I usually use VLC and I use XMMS or Audaious for audio playback.

Thanks hellnoire! Got my music player set up and working. I have over 20 gig's worth of MP3's on my 2nd HDD, so it's nice to be able to listen to tunes, while I play around with Ubuntu.

I figured so
Normally it handles OGG out of the box, but no one but one person I know uses OGG. That's only because he's an audiophile.

"OGG", I'm afraid that you lost me there.

OGG audio can be viewed as a simple open source alternative to MP3 format. Here's what Wiki has to say:

Exactly. It's a different file format, that's all.
