Any opinions yet about Ubuntu 10.04?

I ran the upgrade to 10.04 last night and it installed without any problems. All my previous settings remained in place and all the applications ran normally, so I was very pleased. Booting up and shutting down 10.04 is still just as fast as with previous distros. My initial impression of 10.04 is a solid thumbs up!

I'm still a newbie to Linux, so would you mind explaining what wg111v3 is and why you think it sucks?
    Thanks, John

I have tried previous releases of Ubuntu and I had a little problem with my touch pad and the fan. The touch pad was not responding to touching(the external mouse worked)
and the fan was not able to switch off when the CPU was cold enough, doing a loud noise. With the latest release of Ubuntu the touch pad problem is fixed but the fan still doing the loud noise after some minutes the laptop is on. I think is the power management fault. If is any solution please tell me how to fix it because the noise gets on my nerves. Also the battery drop quick.

Kristin, I've noticed that Ubuntu in general doesn't work too well with laptops... it's why I'm using lightweight Puppy. I do know there's some way to make it work... I just forgot the way.

Yes, 10.04 is the new release and I upgraded from 9.10, rather than download the distro itself, because I wanted to keep all the settings I had in 9.10.

Oh, by the way, thanks for your explanation of Wg111v3. I have Ubuntu installed on a Desktop PC, so that isn't an issue for me.
