Classic Auto Buff
Lubuntu
I installed Lubuntu the other day and noticed right away that it most definitely uses less resources than Ubuntu, or Xubuntu for that matter, and applications can easily be configured to personal choice. 10.04 comes with Google Chrome, so that was the first thing I replaced with Firefox. Startup and shutdown are also very fast.
Has anybody else tried it out, and what is you're opinion?
Thanks, John

I have Lubuntu on my laptop, am replacing it with a Puppy variant.
Mostly because I'm tempted to just dump the official Ubuntu variants and start looking at some of these other ones that aren't so closely related.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

Never used any of them John...but I'm pretty curious about LXDE. I'm planing to install it alongside with GNOME.
Screw Google! Ask me!

Just curious, which Linux distro are you currently using? My sister has an older PC and I was thinking about installing Linux on it.

Probably anythng that uses xvesa, Xorg is for newer cards. xvesa is for older ones. I don't know how to use xvesa with ubuntu, debian, etc. but on Puppy Linux it gives you a choice when booting.
