Manhatten OS: One big MEH.
As in there's nothing impressive about it.
It's mixed KDE and GNOME, the worst of, yet remains light... yet still feels like someone handed me a s Windows 98 disk. Yes I used to love it, but I can't review it now because it feels completely out of date.
I can't review it on the blog because it's a beta still but right now, if it keeps the way it is, I'm imagining not many will try or use it, because it's so... uneventful.
Think of it this way. It's like Windows XP: it's boring, but it works at what it's meant to. Got everything working in it too, as it's based off Ubuntu. Just really... bored with it and don't know what I could test because most of it's locked to US only citizens.
And that sums it up right there.

I'd read before that the desktop was going to be a mix of GNOME and KDE, and right then and there, I knew I wasn't going to be a big fan. I am a US citizen, but I don't feel "lucky" about Manhatten.
There may be a bit of snow on the roof, but there is still a fire blazing in the hearth!

I knew before I tried it that it was going to be a mix, and I figured it would be slow. But it's not. It's... boring.
It has Hulu, Pandora, and services like that that are US only... which is stupid because a non-American citizen can't use them.
Overall, it's more of a skinning of Ubuntu and make it American centered. That's it.

Well, I can handle boring if it works, but if its just a takeoff on Ubuntu, then I don't see the point in it, at least from my perspective. There are plenty of other distros to try out that aren't.

It's a USA-centered Ubuntu. That's literally what I thought of it, and nothing proved me wrong... in fact, everything proved me right.
