well i installed open suse few months ago and it worked very well.

problem was uninstall , i contacted open suse admin and followed instruction precisely

first using some s/w , i deleted linux partition
then after i reboot , it gave me some commanad telling me no master boot found

then i inserted xp cd and followed instruction and successfully master boot written

so after this my PC was supposed to boot with windows but it always dispalyed master boot found , i repeated many times but no luck....

    i lost so imp data

now i want to try out linux again but really scared that what if that happens again

can anyone figure out what could have been wrong before??

    thx

I often will write the MBR first, then delete the Linux partition. That way I know it's safe to remove the Linux partition once I boot into Windows.

Which Linux distro were you using?
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

If you have an external HDD, you could use a disk imaging software like Redo Backup and Recovery to create a system image before you install Linux, or you could create a backup of your MBR and save it someplace safe. Like hellnoire mentioned, it is best to restore your MBR before you delete the Linux partitions.

if u want to try it for some other destros
    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#Can%20I%20use%20Wubi%20for%20non-Ubuntu%20based%20distributions?

Well not only that, but I take it as good practice. If you can't boot into Windows after re-writing the MBR, something's up and wrong. But at least in the mean time, you've got Linux to fall back on hopefully.

12 Gb is very huge if you plan to dual boot with windows, you could very well install in 3-5 gb space and have the rest as ntfs partion and use ntfs mount tools to work with them in linux.
