Mandriva 2010.1 -Menu Problem.
I installed Mandriva(gnome) linux 2010.1 today.I deleted 1 panel and kept only 1
panel that has the menu.I installed all the apps i use and the codecs,i removed the
apps i don't use some startup entries. Now the problem is the one panel is also
missing.I searched a lot and tried to bring back the panel without any success.I would be happy to get any
help.(i have only used debain based ones,Alt+F2 doesn't seem to work,i couldn't even run the terminal)
Here is the screenshot:

Sounds like GNOME crashed on you.... you could do a hard reboot (power off button, push and hold until off, then power it back up) and you might get it back that way.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

Tried it but no luck.i removed mandriva and installed Fedora with Xfce.its way better and the only problem is auto mounting ntfs partions like in ubuntu using ntfs-configuration tool, but it doesn't
seem to be i there for fedora. As i searched i read fedora doesnrt support ntfs is it true?.is there a way to mount ntfs drives at startup?

Fedora does support ntfs, you can run it though fstab and add it manually, or look to see if there's something called ntfs-config in your package manager. Since I'm away, I'm forced to use Windows only... no ethernet cables around here and no wireless card installed, so... as it is, I'm kinda limited in my Linux troubleshooting.
