Thank you Alboguy i had a look at the links you provided and like the look of the distro, if i remeber right it's one Paul recommended before, and to setup the network during install, as last time i ended up with no network also learnt that the start menu is windows specific,

It's one I love, Jaycub, and I've actually set it up to work fine with what I've got. In fact, if I remember right, I have to download the 32bit version for my desktop.

I know I've downloaded and burned the 64bit version for my new computer, and plan to install it over the weekend... now this will be installed too!

Thanks Alboguy, I saw this myself on Distrowatch.

@hellnoire Which desktop are you going for Paul? Xfce or LDXE.

Hard choice John, but I'm thinking XFCE for my desktops. Old habits die hard... but will use LXDE on my laptop, that much I know for sure.

Prakash, you are right. Salix is my favourite distro, the only one that I've given a 9.5 to, and a 10 for their liveCD which offers Grub (the only reason I refuse to give the main install a 10 is because I'm not big on LILO.)

Ah yes, LILO. I wasn't too thrilled with it either. I didn't realize that the livecd offered GRUB. I still haven't installed a Linux Distro on my laptop, so maybe I'll have to give Salix another try.

I make a lot of people aware of Linux... and sometimes it's not a good thing I do
