    Happy BackBox Linux 1 RC - Penetration testing

    BackBox Linux 1 RC released!

    The team is proud to announce the release of BackBox Linux 1 RC.

    This new release is based on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, kernel Linux 2.6.32, Xfce 4.6.1 and features a lot of improvements.

    A complete desktop experience, a simplified usage of the system resources making it suitable in situations where speed is a crucial factor.

    The default theme mixes the elegance of a dark theme with the usability of a light theme.

    Thanks to the software stored on our online repository, BackBox is designed to be an useful and simple tool for Penetration Testing.

    The BackBox Linux 1 will comes in 32 & 64-bit, with ISOs for both architectures.


    I have just installed into a Virtual Machine, not that bad.

    Let me be quite vague... Backtrack's one of those distros that if you're using it, you're not always using it to your best interest...

    I say that because a lot of friends will do that.

    I read this as Backtrack... my comment still stands.

    As for which is better, personally, I'd think this one might be better because it's not trying to load all the KDE-libs on startup.
