hi.i have a dell studio 1458 laptop.iam dual booting pclinux with windows7.the problem is no sound comes from the speakers.anyhelp will be greatly appreciated.thanks

Hmm... not seeing any info about why it wouldn't work.

i tried editing modprobe.conf but that didn't work.i used alsaconf but it didn't work either.

I wouldn't know then if you've modified them... your best bet would be their forum.

i posted it in different linux forums.i asked it in irc channels.but the problem still persists.
