    Dual boot ubuntu and XP? (ubuntu installed first)

    Anyone can help me out with installing XP from usb drive? My notebook does not have a cd/dvd drive. I already set up partitions in ubuntu, ready to go...

    If you install Windows XP on the same HDD, as you have already installed Ubuntu, XP will change your MBR and you will need to reinstall GRUB bootloader for Ubuntu to boot. The best way is to install XP first and then Ubuntu, because GRUB will set up the dual boot for you.

    Indeed. If you want to continue doing it the way you have planned, it can work... but it's a lot more work for you.

    Use this link for the guide to install xp.

    A tool Easybcd can be used to easily add ubutnu to windows boot loader or regain grub.

    true its very fussy ( xp over ubuntu).
    ubuntu over xp is easy.

    Stuck on step 7. I typed in choice 3, typed in D drive, and it says my drive is not valid?
