    Cool Linux distro suggestion needed!

My bro has a crappy system of 256 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD and 2.95 GHZ CPU. Yesterday he asked me for a good Linux distro for his system since he was having performance issues with XP SP3. What do you guys recommend?

I personally am fond of Slax but can't get it to install and boot from his hard drive.

2.95 GHZ CPU with 256 MB RAM is very strange.

Toldya. Crappy system. Now my bro isn't much into computers, so I reckon he'll have trouble with both Puppy and Arch.

Puppy is based of Ubuntu now, I doubt he'll mess it up. Especially when it has 99.9% of all you need right there by default.

Arch, I could understand him messing up though.

2.95GHz CPU looks fine but the RAM is very low. Consider upgrading it since RAM are pretty cheap nowadays.

Indeed. If you don't consider upgrading your RAM only puppy would work with your current specs.
