    Only thing I can say is try running it in a VM and taking a looksee. It might still be fast, never know until you try.

    If I have time this week-end I might give it a try on Virtualbox and see how she runs.

    Seriously? Why not just use 3?

    Also is Mandriva any good for beginners? I've been thinking about trying Linux again.

    From what I find, it is great for beginners, better then Ubuntu... but mind you, after Ubuntu literally fell apart on me, I'm jaded against it.
