Hi Jay. I tried installing Ubuntu 10.04 on my older PC, which is 6 years old, and I wasn't very happy with the results. I think the more recent versions of Ubuntu will run better on newer hardware. Right now I am running Salix on my old PC and am I very happy with it.

I prefer ubuntu derivatives like lubuntu, kubuntu or xubuntu. I hate unity. It suits mainly touch screen interface.

I have used Ubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.10 and was very happy with both of them. At the moment I am using Fedora 15. I really like Fedora and the Gnome Shell. All of these have ran really good on a Pentium 4 HT with 2 gigs of ram. In my opinion they are faster than Windows.
Linux Distro at the moment Fedora 17 / Firefox 12.0
