Now that I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS up and running on the family PC, I decided to try out Linux Mint Debian Edition on my new PC.
The installer was OK, but not as user friendly as Ubuntu. I am now in the process of running 469 available updates
, but after that, I will see about configuring it to my liking. I like that it is a rolling distro, so I shouldn't need to install a new update in 6 months, like with Ubuntu and other Linux distros.

I have been wanting to try Linux Mint Debian Edition. I have been jumping around with different distros for a couple of months. At the moment I am using Ubuntu 11.10 with the Cinnamon desktop. Keep us posted on how you like LMDE.
Linux Distro at the moment Fedora 17 / Firefox 12.0

Well, during the installation of the 469 updates, which included a new Linux Kernel, I got a number of error messages and the updates didn't want to install. At the moment, I am undecided about whether I want to try and figure it out, or to just try another Distro. From what I could see, LMDE probably requires an experienced Linux user to get set up. Also, the Gnome Edition, which is what I installed seems just as bloated as the newer Ubuntu Distros. Another option would be to wait until the final release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS comes out and give that a try.

I have heard some good thing about Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. But I guess we will just have to wait and try it out for ourselves.
