Linux Mint Debian Edition
When I was checking the link Ted provided for Linux Mint 12, I saw this distro and it looked interesting. Has anybody here tried it and would it be worth downloading? The idea of a rolling distribution seems like a good one if it works properly. Would beat the heck out of downloading new versions every few months.

Arch is on my list of distros to try out yet, so I didn't realize it was a rolling release. All the better...

Indeed, it is. But ran into a problem with a problem with my test laptop, where updating broke the permissions on the account.
Regardless, it works though.

I read that a person might have to put up with a few glitches, until a new update is released to fix them. But not having to re-install the OS all the time would be worth a little extra hassle IMHO.

Indeed. That's what my logic was. That and the demo I was trying to make wasn't working with DVDs.

I did not knew we had rolling release for Mint. I have some ( or a lot ) of questions, but , I would ask only a bit and google rest.
Isn't Mint based on Ubuntu which is based on Debain , so what is special about this debian edition.
Also, from pic of debian edition, I done see gnome 3 there. does it mean , we have to explicitly install them ?
Love me , Hate me but you just can't Ignore me

I think I will try LMDE for myself.

Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) is a rolling distribution based on Debian Testing. It is available in both 32 and 64-bit as a live DVD and features a Gnome and an Xfce edition.
Is LMDE compatible with Ubuntu-based Linux Mint editions?
No, it is not. LMDE is compatible with Debian, which isn't compatible with Ubuntu.
