how do i install ubuntu one on mint 12
i've been using ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 ever since i kicked windows 7 out of my system. what i really like about ubuntu is their ubuntu one app. as many people here might know, i like collecting and testing malware and ubuntu one helps me to store my very valuable malware collection without deleting any stuff (windows live skydrive did that). now i have changed my system to mint 12 and i strongly believe this is much better than ubuntu 11.10. but i can't get to install ubuntu one on mint, inspite of having heard that all ubuntu software are compatible with mint.
if there's any good alternative to ubuntu one that doesn't delete my files and i can have the shared folder right here on my computer, i'd sure like to know.

This is translated from here - http://www.lffl.org/2011/12/ubuntu-o...t-12-lisa.html
So here's how to install Linux Mint Ubuntu One 12 Lisa.
To install Linux Mint Ubuntu One 12 Lisa Stable Ubuntu One will use the PPP to do just start the terminal and type:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuone/stable
Code:
sudo apt-get update
Code:
sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-control-panel-gtk ubuntuone-client
Now to launch Ubuntu One just type in terminal or Alt + F2:
Code:
ubuntuone-control-panel-gtk
Ubuntu One, and we will have our start.

Stay away from mint 12. You better use mint 11 or mint 9. Mint 12 is super slow. Not sure what happened. I just tried it on virtual machine. Same machine runs mint 11 very fast.

dunno about u but my mint 12 is running super smooth...
although as an off topic, it does sometimes fail to download certain repositories during the update...i guess that's got everything to do with the servers.

Totally Support luffy.
Mint 12 is a good example of blunder made by a group of people in over excitement /over confidence
I would suggest to avoid this version till they make them some stable.

I am on Mint 12 and it runs fine
slowness may depend upon the resource you allocate to in vmware
Love me , Hate me but you just can't Ignore me

I agree with Neo. I have Linux Mint 12 installed on an older computer with Pentium 4 and 1 gig ram and it runs like a top. It is actually faster than windows. I did try it on virtual machine before the final version came out and it was very slow.
Linux Distro at the moment Fedora 17 / Firefox 12.0
