Voted for Ubuntu. Mint is not in the list or I might've voted for that.

I have voted for Mandriva as it is trouble free and easier to use with good hardware support and an easier to configure firewall

It's not listed in the poll, but I like anyone of the many versions of PCLinuxOS.
There are minimal installs which allow you to choose which programmes you'd like to install, instead of a default set. Customising your Linux Distro is a great way to learn.

I haven't used Linux yet, now we're at it, whats so good bout linux
1.) No viruses affect it, hackers build viruses mainly for Windows.
2.) I hate running AntiVirus software.
3.) You have control to customise your operating system, not just aesthetically how it looks, but as Linux is open source software you can really tweak it to your own needs.
4.) One drawback is the steep learning curve moving to Linux, if you're used to Windows. However the GUI's are making that a lot easier to make the transition. Linux five + years ago was much less user friendly, relying on a knowledge of the commandline. Not so these days !

i have no doubt Linux is the way to go, and would like a better understanding, although i don't believe that it is totally virus free or at least not worthy of attacks unless there was mass migration to Linux...still think i will make time for it this year and give it a serious go...

Just cast my vote for Mandriva. I have been very pleased with Mandriva since installing it a few months ago.
